belgoium trip 1

The 2018 Social Sciences trip has been announced - all the details you need to sign up are here.

This special five-day tour of Belgium and France in July 2018 coincides with centennial events commemorating the end of the First World War.

Two days will be spent visiting the sites and memorials of the WW1 Battlefields including Passchendaele Museum, In Flanders Field Museum, Tyne Cot British Memorial and attendance at Menin Gate the Last Post Ceremony as well as Vimy Ridge Tunnels and Trenches, Thiepval Memorial and Devonshire Regiment Cemetery.

The trip also includes two days in Disneyland Paris to experience one of Europe’s largest travel and tourism attractions.

There are 44 places available on the trip for students who are in current Years 7-12.

"The trip will benefit students who are studying any of the Social Sciences Subjects – History, Modern Britain, Geography, Sociology or Business Studies," said Miss Hill, Social Sciences Curriculum assistant.

"If you are interested in going on the trip, please write a letter of application, stating your reasons, to Miss Sayer and me, and bring it to the Social Sciences office by 3 March."

Successful students will receive a reply form to pay the first deposit of £100 by 31 March and the first 44 students to apply and pay a deposit will secure their place.
