 KS4 students packed into the library for the unveiling of the new Young Adult Book section in the Library.

The books were selected by KS4 students themselves which included a visit to Waterstones as well as an online book buy.

"The students were very excited to see their selections on the shelves ready to borrow," said Mrs Wrennall, College Librarian.

"The Horror and True Life sections are proving to be the most popular.
"We are very keen to encourage our older students to carry on reading for pleasure and wanted the students to feel involved in the development of the new section," explained Mrs Wrennall College Librarian.

Mrs Ware Assistant Vice Principal said "There is overwhelming evidence that reading for pleasure has a massive impact on academic achievement. Equally, those students who don't read regularly are less likely to achieve higher grades at GCSE.

"We want to put all our students in the strongest possible place to achieve success."
