Students from Stoke Damerel were top of the tree when they took part in a daring challenge at Dartmoor Zoo.

KS3 and KS4 Excel students from the College were challenged to climb a beautiful 70ft oak tree at Dartmoor Zoo with Climb A Tree while at the park taking part in an Educators event.

"Three of the students made it right up to the top viewing platform – ‘branch’ – where they could take in the view of the whole park and its inhabitants," said Ms Radford, who accompanied the group to the event on 18 June 2016.

STEM Project Is Monkey Business

"The challenge was carried out under strict safety guidelines and under the care of a fully-trained climbing instructor and is one of the attractions you can take part in at Dartmoor Zoological Park.

"Parents of the students who were relegated to just watching, were itching to join their children and commented how it was a great opportunity for them to take part in.

The Educators event was organised by Dartmoor Zoo and allowed the College to showcase the Literacy and STEM work our students have been working on.
