An Inspiring Day at Exeter College, Oxford University

A group of our Sixth Form students recently had the incredible opportunity to spend a day at Exeter College, Oxford University, gaining first-hand insight into life as an Oxford student.

The visit began with an informative session led by college staff and student ambassadors, who shared their experiences and explained the similarities and differences between studying at Oxford and other universities. Students also received valuable guidance on potential interview questions, helping them prepare for future applications.

As part of their experience, they explored the historic grounds of Exeter College, including the magnificent chapel and the beautiful gardens that overlook the iconic Radcliffe Camera, a part of the Bodleian Library.

A highlight of the day was dining in the stunning Jacobean dining hall, where students enjoyed a meal in the same setting as generations of scholars before them.

In the afternoon, the group took part in an engaging workshop at the History of Science Museum. They had the chance to use an astrolabe, an early scientific instrument designed for timekeeping and astronomical observations. The visit concluded with a fascinating look at a chalkboard used by Albert Einstein during his second lecture at Oxford University, which features equations linking the age, density, and size of the universe.

This enriching experience offered students an inspiring glimpse into university life and the world of academic discovery at one of the world’s most prestigious institutions.
