Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of VE Day at School

Today, our school community came together to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day with a meaningful programme of events filled with reflection, celebration, and remembrance.
Students in Years 7, 8, and 9 had the unique opportunity to experience history in an immersive way through a special virtual reality activity during break time. This interactive session offered a powerful insight into life eight decades ago, bringing the past vividly to life.
At 12 p.m., the entire school observed a respectful two-minute silence, joining people across the country in honouring those who served. The solemnity of the morning gave way to a festive, street party-style lunch, where students and staff came together to enjoy music, decorations, and a strong sense of community spirit.
For those seeking a quieter moment, reflection spaces were available during break, offering a calm environment for peaceful thought and remembrance.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this important day so memorable and meaningful.
