Rugby Season Kicks Off with Exciting Performances Across All Year Groups!

Our rugby players have started their seasons in fantastic style, showing great skill, spirit, and teamwork across every year group.

The highlight of the week came from our Year 7 squad, who took part in their very first fixtures — and loved every minute! Their opening match against Lipson ended in an exciting draw, giving the team valuable experience and confidence. They then played a full-contact game against St Boniface, which they won in dramatic fashion with the final play of the game! The boys showed a brilliant attitude throughout and even offered to help the opposition when needed — a real credit to the school. Star player: Rayane, for fearless tackling and outstanding determination.

Our Year 8 and Year 10/11 teams have also made strong starts to their seasons, continuing to develop their skills and teamwork in their early fixtures.

The Year 8 team began their cup game with a high-scoring, entertaining match against St Boniface. Both sides played some excellent attacking rugby, and our lads were unlucky not to come away with the win. There was plenty to be proud of, especially the creativity and energy shown in attack. Star player: Archie, for tireless effort from start to finish.

The Year 10/11 team also demonstrated fantastic progress in their match against DHSB. These games have often been challenging in the past, but this time our players produced a brilliant performance and were narrowly beaten by just a couple of tries. It was wonderful to see experienced players such as Jaxon and Theo leading by example, supporting younger teammates, and encouraging everyone to keep improving.

It’s been an excellent start to the rugby season, with all our teams showing commitment, enthusiasm, and pride in representing the school. We’re looking forward to seeing their continued progress and success over the coming weeks.

Well done to everyone involved!
