Year 9 Stars Score Big in Recent Netball Fixtures

The Year 9 Stars put in an incredible performance in their latest fixture, showing great teamwork and adaptability throughout the games. A special mention goes to Vicky, who stepped up from our Diamonds team to take on the role of goalkeeper. Even with a few position changes, the girls’ support for each other and their high standards never wavered.

The Stars’ first match was against Plympton in a very close game. At one point, there were only two goals in it, with the ball constantly moving from end to end. However, our girls dug deep and finished strongly, taking a fantastic 17–9 win! Player of the Match went to Nevaeh, who showed outstanding resilience during an exhausting second half.

Next up was a tough match against Eggbuckland. The scoreline kept shifting, and at times the Stars found themselves behind. Eggbuckland double-marked our star shooter Bethany, causing plenty of frustration in the attacking third, but the team stayed determined and found a way to secure a hard-fought 10–8 victory. Mrs Turner was especially impressed with Liberty and Maddi, who picked up countless loose balls and made several key interceptions throughout the game.

Other staff commented on how smart the girls looked and on their obvious enthusiasm for netball and for each other. We are always so proud of them all!
