Year 8 Dive into Ocean Learning at Plymouth Aquarium

Year 8 students studying oceans in Geography recently took part in an exciting educational visit to Plymouth Aquarium, bringing their classroom learning to life
During the day, students participated in two interactive workshops led by the aquarium’s education team. These sessions focused on climate change and sustainability, key themes within the current Geography topic and the wider KS3 curriculum. Students also had the opportunity to explore the aquarium and observe a wide range of marine life, helping to deepen their understanding of ocean environments.
Kye, year 8 student said,
“It was really interesting to see what we’ve been learning about in real life. The workshops helped me understand how climate change affects the oceans.”
Aflie added,
I loved seeing all the different sea creatures and learning how we can protect the oceans in the future.”
The trip proved to be an engaging and memorable experience, enriching students’ learning and encouraging them to think more critically about the future of our oceans.
