Year 13 Drama Students Master Sound Design with Industry Expert

Our Year 13 Drama students recently took part in an inspiring, hands-on technical workshop led by local musician, technician, and professional Live Sound Engineer, Yiannis Houlis.
Designed to give students a behind-the-scenes look at the technical mechanics of theatre, the session provided invaluable exposure to the wider Performing Arts industry beyond the stage.
Working directly with professional-grade technical equipment, students gained practical, industry-level expertise in Sound Design. From understanding audio setup to learning how sound shapes atmosphere, mood, and narrative in live performance, the workshop offered an authentic taste of real-world production.
Opportunities like this ensure our Performing Arts students develop a broad, well-rounded foundation – equipping them not only as performers, but as versatile, tech-savvy theatre makers.
A big thank you to Yiannis Houlis for sharing his expertise and inspiring the next generation of technical talent!
