To mark the Youth Sport Trust’s National School Sport Week from 20-26 June, the College has come
up with a week of challenges for Year 7 and 8 students. And, for added fun, we are asking them to
send in their ‘Healthy Selfies’ and short video clips for this week’s Fun Friday Challenge.
Here are the daily challenges created by Miss Le Page to keep our students active and fit during
National School Sport Week.
Music Monday
Pick your favourite song and see how many speed bounces you can during the song. Mr Hatcliffe
chose Chelsea Dagger by the Fratellis.
Target Tuesday
Set up your own target challenge, using objects from your home. Can you beat Mr Thomas’ score of
Workout Wednesday
How long will it take you to complete these exercises? Ten star-jumps, 10 squats, 20 air punches, 10
burpees, 10 sit ups. Can you beat Miss Turner’s time of 58 seconds?
Tennis Thursday
Using objects from your home (e.g. a frying pan and rolled up socks), see how many keeps-ups you
can do. Can you be more inventive than Miss Crowe?
Family and Friends Friday
Challenge a member of your family or a friend to a workout challenge. What about a one-minute
burpee challenge or a dance off? Miss Le Page’s brother challenged her to run up and down the
stairs 20 times!
Miss Le Page said: “It is a shame that we cannot all be together for National School Sport Week, but
this is the next best thing. So, come on Years 7 and 8 - I want to see as many of you as possible
taking part by doing these challenges safely, at home.”
