Exploring Science at the STEM Showcase

Recently, sixty budding scientists from across campus attended the STEM Showcase at the University of Plymouth. The day was packed with excitement, featuring hands-on activities and fascinating exhibits at the Rolle Marquee.
Students had the opportunity to engage in a variety of interactive displays, from holding giant snails and watching robotic dogs in action to competing in water pressure challenges. These were just a few highlights that captured everyone’s attention.
Beyond the exhibits, students enjoyed an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the university’s cutting-edge facilities. They marvelled at the giant wave machine, ventured through the wind tunnel, and examined vivariums brimming with exotic bugs.
Reflecting on the trip, one student said, "I found it absolutely fascinating. I’ve always been curious about that massive building on the roundabout, and now I’ve had the chance to see the waves." Another added, "I wish the robot dog could come to our school so we could show it to our year group."
The day was a fantastic opportunity for exploration and learning, leaving everyone inspired by the wonders of science and innovation on display.
