A Weekend to Remember at PGL Barton Hall!

We are absolutely delighted to celebrate our first-ever PGL tournament win—an incredible achievement by our Year 8 Stars at Barton Hall in Torquay.
The Stars were outstanding from the start, winning all six of their group-stage games to top their group and secure a place in the semi-finals. In a tense and thrilling match against Devonport High School for Girls, a full-time draw led to extra time—where our girls held their nerve and came away with a hard-fought win. With just a 15-minute break to regroup, they went into the final and delivered a phenomenal performance in an end-to-end game, ultimately emerging victorious. A truly unforgettable moment for the team and the school!
In addition to the Year 8 Stars’ historic win, our other teams also made us incredibly proud. The Year 10 team reached the semi-finals, where they were narrowly defeated by the eventual tournament winners. They bounced back brilliantly to claim third place and bronze medals. Our Year 8 Diamonds and Year 9 team gave it their all and finished just one spot shy of the semi-finals, demonstrating fantastic teamwork, resilience, and a real competitive spirit throughout the tournament.
We’d also like to give a huge congratulations to Year 8 student Lilly, who had to leave the weekend early to compete in the Plymouth 5K. She completed the race in an impressive 28 minutes and 30 seconds, placing 93rd out of 500 runners — a fantastic achievement!
Miss Le Page, Miss Turner, and Miss Hefford were full of praise for all the players—not just for their impressive performances, but for the way they supported one another and represented the school with pride all weekend.
We can’t wait for PGL 2026!
