Year 10 Students Celebrate Mentoring Success at the University of Plymouth

A group of our Year 10 students from across campus recently attended a special Celebration Event at the University of Plymouth, marking the successful completion of a 12-week Mentoring Programme. This inspiring initiative, designed to empower young people, gave students the chance to work closely with university mentors to explore academic pathways, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. The event was a proud culmination of their commitment and the strong connections formed over the course of the programme.
During their visit, students enjoyed a guided tour of the university’s outstanding facilities, offering valuable insight into higher education and potential future opportunities. Highlights included a hands-on First Aid workshop and a fascinating visit to the state-of-the-art Coast Lab and Marine Building. There, students were captivated by the powerful wave simulation machines and learnt about real-world applications in coastal engineering and marine science.
The day concluded with a formal Celebration Ceremony, where students proudly received certificates in recognition of their commitment, personal growth, and active participation in the programme.
Throughout the day, our students upheld the highest standards, representing the school with pride and professionalism. They were articulate, inquisitive, respectful, and enthusiastic at every stage. University staff praised their maturity and positive attitude, and it was clear they left a lasting impression.
