GLT Athletics Event – Bath University
Our sports department recently took 16 pupils to the GLT Athletics Event held at the world-class sporting facilities of Bath University – a venue where many Olympic athletes train and compete. It was a fantastic experience for our students, giving them the rare opportunity to perform at such an elite level venue and mix with peers from schools across the country.
Each student took part in one track event and one field event, finishing the day with a high-energy relay race. As the track events progressed to the finals, excitement built – especially back at school, where the organisers arranged for the races to be live-streamed. This meant our Year 7s could gather together to cheer on their classmates from afar, creating a real sense of community and pride.
Despite the heat, our students performed exceptionally well. We were thrilled to bring home some bronze, silver and gold medals in the individual events!
Special congratulations go to Lilly H, Oli NP, and Rueben M, who all earned gold medals – an outstanding achievement.
We are incredibly proud of every pupil who competed. This event showcased not only their talent and determination, but also their brilliant team spirit and resilience.
