Year 11 Take Geography Beyond the Classroom

Our Year 11 students recently completed two days of geography fieldwork, experiencing the best and worst of Plymouth’s weather – one sunny day and one wet day – but embracing it all with enthusiasm!

Students carried out a human geography investigation in Tavistock, followed by a physical geography investigation at Cadover Bridge on the River Plym. Across both days, they demonstrated exceptional effort, engagement, and professionalism, remaining polite and focused throughout their fieldwork activities.

Milan said: “It was great to see how the things we learn in the classroom actually happen in real life – even in the rain! I really enjoyed collecting data and seeing the differences between the human and physical geography sites.”

It was a fantastic opportunity for students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings while developing practical skills essential for their geography studies.
