Victory at Barton Hall: Year 9 Netballers Sweep the Podium!

What a weekend! Our Year 9 netball teams traveled to the PGL Barton Hall centre in Devon for a high-octane weekend of elite competition and outdoor adventure. Facing off against top school and club teams from across the region, our students proved that they are a force to be reckoned with.

The tournament, officiated by England Netball, provided a professional and intense environment for our athletes. But it wasn't all business on the court; between matches, the girls took to the skies on the zip wire and tackled the climbing walls, showing just as much grit on the adventure course as they did on the center third.

Our Year 9 teams showed incredible depth and skill this weekend, with both the Diamonds and the Stars battling their way through grueling fixtures to reach the semi-finals.

  • Year 9 Diamonds: After a series of hard-fought matches, the Diamonds secured an impressive 3rd place finish. They showed incredible heart in the semi-finals, narrowly missing out on the gold-medal match by a mere 2 goals!

  • Year 9 Stars: In a display of pure dominance, the Stars were crowned Tournament Champions once again! Their stats for the weekend were nothing short of legendary: 94 goals scored and only 7 conceded.

A Weekend to Remember

Beyond the trophies, the weekend was about teamwork, resilience, and making memories. We are immensely proud of how every student conducted themselves.

Sports Teacher and organiser of the weekend beamed,

"All our students were amazing. They gave their all on the court and supported each other throughout the adventure activities. They’ll certainly be exhausted tomorrow, but they should be incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved."

A huge thank you to Jodi, Rachel, Bethany, Sophie, and Charlotte for their leadership and support of the teams throughout the trip.

They may be tired, but they are coming home as champions! Congratulations to all our students to competed.
