To put this into perspective, there were over 2,200 nominations across the city, and only 45 extraordinary young people made the final shortlist. The awards celebrate children throughout Plymouth for outstanding achievements, inspiring feats against adversity, and a tireless dedication to creating change.

As a finalist, Carla was invited to the glamorous Youth Gala at the Crowne Plaza alongside her proud parents as her guests.

"When I found out I was a finalist out of so many people, I couldn't believe it! Being at the Gala with my family was amazing, and it has inspired me even more to keep working hard and trying to make a positive difference in our community."
