Apprenticeship and College Fair showcases exciting opportunities

A number of Plymouth’s major training providers visited the school to talk to students about the apprenticeship and full-time college opportunities they can offer.

The College has hosted an Apprenticeship and Further Education Fair for our Year 11 and sixth form students, as they consider their next steps.

A number of Plymouth’s major training providers visited the school to talk to students about the apprenticeship and full-time college opportunities they can offer. Among them were The Army, City College Plymouth, Skills Group, Plymouth College of Arts, The Focus Training Group, Build Plymouth, and Achievement Training.

There were options from across the career sectors, including engineering, telecommunications, electrical & gas, accountancy, business admin, animal care, health & social care, hair & beauty, education, IT, arboriculture, logistics, catering, marketing & creative, and many construction skills.

The event, on 8 June, was organised by our Careers and Employability Manager, Miss Trezona, and our Next Steps South West Coordinator, Mrs Gannon.

Mrs Gannon said: “Quite a few of the students already had an idea of what they want to do next, and this event has enabled them to confirm that. It was an opportunity for them to speak to different organisations to see what is on offer, and to cement their decisions. As a result, some have confirmed their applications and are arranging to attend open days.”

Miss Trezona added: “The Fair was well attended by students, which was pleasing to see, and we are very grateful to our exhibitors for providing valuable information and guidance to help our students to make informed choices. There are a lot of exciting and rewarding careers for them to consider.”

Students who would like further help as they prepare for their next step can make an appointment to see Miss Trezona or Mrs Gannon.
