Billy Booth, once a student at Stoke Damerel, embarked on a remarkable career journey within the construction industry. Starting as a labourer on a building site, Billy recognised the importance of acquiring a trade qualification. Undeterred by the demands of working full-time, he attended college on Saturdays, eventually becoming a qualified bricklayer.

Weathering the seasons in the construction industry, Billy took on a Christmas temporary job at Currys as an electrical retailer. It was during this stint that he caught the attention of a Santander Manager, impressed by Billy's work ethic. This encounter led to a job offer, and for the past 14 years, Billy has thrived within Santander, rapidly climbing the ranks.

Billy's dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed at Santander. Taking on increasing responsibilities, he successfully transitioned from personal banking to the role of Deputy Manager. Recently, Billy assumed the position of Business Banking Manager, showcasing his adaptability and expertise in the banking sector.

Billy, now our Enterprise Adviser, is eager to work closely with Stoke Damerel students. His goal is to enhance their employability skills and provide valuable insights into the dynamic world of banking. Leveraging his own experiences, Billy aims to help students develop a deeper understanding of the opportunities available within the banking sector.
