Year 8's take part in captivating climate change workshop

A group of Year 8 students embarked on an enlightening journey into the realm of climate change this week, thanks to a captivating workshop hosted by Dan Larn of Regen Farm.

In this hands-on and interactive session, students delved deeper into the complexities of environmental sustainability.

Dan's expertise shone through as he skilfully engaged the students with practical activities, drawing upon real-life projects from his company to illustrate key concepts. From understanding the impact of greenhouse gases to exploring innovative solutions for making deserts habitable, the workshop provided a platform for students to expand their classroom knowledge and foster a deeper appreciation for the pressing issues surrounding climate change.

Reflecting on their experiences, students shared their insights and gratitude for the opportunity. Theo remarked, "It was good because it was very practical, and I learnt a lot about making the desert more habitable." Kenyan expressed his newfound understanding, saying, "I learnt about global warming and greenhouse gases, which was interesting."

Freddie appreciated the engaging approach, noting, "It was really interesting, especially learning through games." Ruby found a connection between food production and sustainability, stating, "I liked finding out the process of how food gets to our table, very interesting."

The workshop not only provided valuable knowledge but also sparked curiosity and inspired action amongst the students.

We extend our appreciation to Dan Larn for coming in and educating the next generation on the importance of environmental stewardship. Through workshops like these, we empower students to become informed global citizens, equipped to tackle the challenges of climate change with resilience and ingenuity.
