Students Get a Fresh Take on History with a trip to the Theatre Royal Plymouth

40 students from Years 10, 11, and 13 recently had the opportunity to attend a spectacular performance of the musical "Six" at the Theatre Royal Plymouth. This production offers a fresh take on the lives of Henry VIII’s six wives, telling their stories through a lively and modern musical style.

"Six" reimagines these historical figures by telling their stories from their own perspectives, addressing common misconceptions about how women have been remembered in history. The show not only captivated the students but also offered valuable insights that aligned with the GCSE History curriculum, making it both an engaging and educational experience.

The excitement of attending a sold-out performance added to the evening’s thrill. Daisy, one of the students, shared: “I have never been to a sold-out show before, the theatre was packed full of people. It was such an amazing evening and a brilliant performance to watch.”

This trip was not only an outstanding educational opportunity, enhancing the students' historical understanding, but also a memorable and enjoyable occasion for everyone who attended.
