College hosts Sixth Form Next Step Open Evening

Stoke Damerel Community College is inviting Year 11 students and their parents and carers to come and see what our Sixth Form has to offer.

Our Next Step Open Evening takes place on Tuesday 16 November 2021, from 6pm to 8pm. It is a chance for prospective Sixth Formers to speak to staff and learn about the academic and vocational options.

Colleges and apprenticeship training providers will be here to talk to students about courses for Years 12 and 13, including full-time college courses, apprenticeships, and pre-apprenticeship programmes. Among the local employers taking part is Babcock, which offer a wide range of apprenticeship opportunities.

Careers and Employability Manager, Miss Trezona, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for Year 11 students and their parents and carers to explore the various next step options. There will be staff and training providers on hand to answer any questions that students might have.

“The event is very much the first step as Year 11s consider their post-16 options and we would encourage them to come along and hopefully be inspired by the opportunities that are available,” she added.

The event is open to SDCC Year 11s and to Year 11 students from other schools who are looking to step up to Years 12 and 13. There is no need to book - just turn up to reception.
